Coffee
Freeze dried coffee is a granular material with a bulk density of 15 to 25 PCF (240-400 kg/M3). It is screened to remove overs and fines prior to packaging.
Freeze dried coffee is scalped through 4 to 7 M and fines are removed on 18 to 35 M. In order to comply with hygiene regulations, stainless steel screens are mostly used with a typical loading capacity of 1.7 TPH/m2.
As freeze dried coffee is processed at -40°C, special features are incorporated into the screener. These include:
-
drag link with steel bearings instead of rubber bushings
-
special drive head oil or grease for proper lubrication at -40°C
-
special formed rod ball support deck and silicone balls for continuous mesh cleaning at -40°C
